The Heavy Laser represents the consistent further development of the Light Laser's design. The structure was reinforced and improved with new materials. This made the hull considerably more resilient. At the same time, the energy system and targeting computer were also improved, allowing a Heavy Laser to concentrate significantly more energy onto a target. Defense installations deactivate themselves once they are too badly damaged. After a battle, there is a chance of up to 70% that disabled defense installations can be repaired again.
