Planets
Planets are where most buildings and units (ships and defenses) are constructed.
While players may destroy („abandon“) their own colonies, players cannot destroy each other's planets (only their moons).
Additionally, all buildings on a planet are immune to damage from attacks.1)
Each planet has unique coordinates defining its position within a solar system.
Position within a system affects a planet's temperature - influencing resource production, and its diameter - defining the number of fields available to construct buildings on.
Planets can be renamed by clicking on the planet's current name at the top of the Overview page.
Main Planet
Every player starts with a Main Planet (or „Home Planet“). The main planet will be located somewhere within positions 4-12 of a solar system. The main planet cannot be deleted as player account data is linked to it.
Colonies
Players can colonize uninhabited planets with the use of the Colony Ship.
The quantity of colonies and their available positions depends on astrophysics research. Initially, only positions 4-12 can be colonized.
The temperature and diameter is determined randomly upon colonization, but is heavily influenced by its position in a system. If the properties of a planet are found to be undesirable, a player might abandon their colony in search of better prospects. Given the randomness in planet generation, a player can even return to a previously abandoned location and colonize a planet with different properties than the first.
When a colony is abandoned, a „destroyed planet“ appears at its location in the galaxy menu. The location cannot be colonized again until this status clears (after 48 hours + time until the next deletion job on Saturday at 2 a.m.).
