Honor Points

This is the approved revision of this page, as well as being the most recent.

Honor Points

Honor points (HP) rate a player's combat behavior towards stronger or weaker opponents. They work in two directions: good honor points lower your own fuel consumption when attacking, bad honor points increase the plunder rate other players can capture from your own account. Calculated from src/Core/PlayerUtil.php (calculate_honorpoints_boost(), calculate_honorpoints_decrease()) and src/BattleEngine/BattleHandler.php (application of the plunder rate).

Rank Titles

Ranks result from your placement among all players in the universe (top/bottom 10%, 20%, 30%) AND a minimum HP threshold:

Rank Condition
God-Emperor rank 1, ≥ 50,000 HP
Grand Emperor top 10%, ≥ 15,000 HP
Emperor top 20%, ≥ 2,500 HP
Starlord top 30%, ≥ 500 HP
(neutral) in between
Bandit bottom 30%, ≤ −500 HP
Banditlord bottom 20%, ≤ −2,500 HP
King of the Bandits bottom 10%, ≤ −15,000 HP
Bandit Emperor last place, ≤ −50,000 HP

Fuel Discount When Attacking (Own Honor Points)

Anyone with good honor points themselves pays less deuterium when attacking — the factor directly multiplies the fuel consumption formula:

Own Rank Factor Discount
Grand Emperor (≥ 15,000 HP) 0.80 20%
Emperor (≥ 2,500 HP) 0.88 12%
Starlord (≥ 500 HP) 0.95 5%
neutral 1.00

Plunder Rate When Attacking Low Honor Points (Target's Honor Points)

Conversely: if you attack a player with bad honor points, you can capture a higher percentage of their resources. pr0game's base plunder rate is 50% per resource (BattleHandler.php, $planetResource / 2), multiplied by this factor:

Target's Honor Points Factor Effective Plunder Rate
neutral (down to −500 HP) 1.0 50%
Bandit (≤ −500 HP) 1.2 60%
Banditlord (≤ −2,500 HP) 1.6 80%
King of the Bandits (≤ −15,000 HP) 2.0 100%

So from Banditlord rank onward, effectively full plunder without a capacity limit through the honor points rule becomes possible (King of the Bandits reaches exactly factor 2.0 = 100%) — the amount that can actually be carried away naturally remains limited by the cargo capacity of the attacking fleet.

Special case: pirate base: Attacks on a pirate base (NPC target) always receive the full factor 2.0 (100% plunder), regardless of honor points.

Resource protection: Independent of the honor-points plunder rate, up to 10% of daily production (1% per storage building level) is generally protected from plunder — this protection additionally reduces the amount that can actually be captured, independent of the honor points factor.
