Researchers on different planets communicate with each other over this network. For each level researched, one research lab is networked in. The labs with the highest level are always connected first. The networked lab must be sufficiently expanded to be able to carry out the upcoming research on its own. The expansion levels of all participating labs are added together in the Intergalactic Research Network.
